COMFORT ISOLATION

Glasswool insulation from Glava is approved for use on vessels and on oil- and gas installations offshore through certification from Det Norske Veritas (DNV). The certifications is build on demand of non-combustible materials in marine use. Low weight and large mechanical strength and flexibility makes glasswool well suited for comfort insulation on vessels. 

Saint-Gobain startet in 1992 the research and development works to improve the property with use of glasswool for high temperatur equipments and fire solutions in marine. Saint-Gobain wanted to keep the best property from glasswool and stonewool. The results is the insulation product we call ULTIMATE. All raw materials included in the production process is converted to high-grade insulation material. This is why ULTIMATE have its good insulation value even as  thermal, fire and acoustics insulation. 

For condens insulation of refrigeration systems and chilled water piping for air-conditioning systems in marine applications we do have Armaflex cellular rubber from ARMACELL. This product has certificate from Bureau Veritas as a low flame spread characteristics.

FIRE INSULATION

Our insulation products for shipping and offshore include stonewool products from Paroc which have certifications for fire constructions and comfort insulation.

Isover ULTIMATE 
–  new generation of mineral wool:

SAINT-GOBAIN ISOVER is a world wide manufacturer of traditional glass and stone wool insulation materials. It has developed in a multi-year R&D program a new technology to produce a brand new material: ULTIMATE.

Highlight of this innovation is the combination of both performances. 
Benefits of Isover Glass Wool – lightweight, very efficient thermal and acoustic insulation, high elasticity and compressibility – are combined with benefits of Isover Stone Wool - Resistance to Fire and high temperature application.

ULTIMATE is predestined for the usage in light weight structures.
Weight reductions up to 50% by fulfilling at the same time thermal, acoustic and fire requirements compared to mainly used stone wool. 
Depending on the Offshore project weight savings of 60t have been calculated. 

This new generation of mineral wool is a Non-Combustible material and it fulfils fire protection requirements on steel and aluminium constructions with fire resistance up to A 60.

Additionally ULTIMATE has excellent advantages in mounting and fixing. Due to its robustness and flexibility it is very easy and fast to install by having a low amount of waste material at the same time. 

Due to its Maximum Service Temperature up to 650°C, it is also applicable for high temperature applications.

Full scale fire tests with composite material protected by ULTIMATE have been carried out. FRD 60 Deck and FRD 60-Bulkhead protected by ULTIMATE with a low gram weight showed the fire resisting properties in an impressive way.

ULTIMATE was granted the health related EUCEB and RAL Quality Mark.
