DECK MOTION MONITORING

The Deck Motion Monitor (DMM) displays the Effective Significant Wave Height and real time waves on the vessel deck. Accurate information from the DMM may allow lifting whereas the traditional sea state method would normally overestimate the motions and not allow lifting operation.

Using the DMM system will increase safety as well as operational availability to all offshore lifting operations. In particular during heavy lift operations, where the risk is higher and margins for error are smaller, there is no room for guessing.

The system has several stand-alone moduels for various operations; DMM-Personnel, DMM-Relative Motion, DMM-Deck View, DMM-Simulator Mode and DMM-Seakeeping. To read more about these modules, click on the menu on the right.

HELIDECK MONITORING SYSTEMS

The ShoreConnection Helideck Monitoring System (HMS) provides motion and meteorological information, which is essential to support safe and efficient helicopter operations to rigs and vessels. The HMS data is processed and presented in an intuitive graphic user interface, and is designed to support Helicopter Pilots to make vital safety decisions before take-off, during the approach and while on-deck.

The data is recorded for 12 months, and can be reported, replayed and analyzed on board or even ashore using the unique playback and data export function.

The HMS system can be tailored to suit all customer’s needs and the latest rules & regulations depending on the operating area and flight frequency.

A basic HMS can always be expanded with many add-on options and also sea sensors to form a full Met-ocean system.

POWER FAULT CONTROL

Power Fault Control (PFC) is a system for Advanced Generator Protection and associated services required for verification of the electrical system. The PFC system detects possible common source power faults which can lead to loss of all electric power and/or loss of all thrusters when the bus tie breaker is closed.

PFC is a fast acting, monitoring and protection system, using advanced and multi-variable protection functions which are able to detect and isolate faults with a high degree of reliability and precision.

ShoreConnection have since 2004 successfully delivered our Power Fault Control system to over 25 vessels.

The PFC is based on the comprehensive Høglund Marine Automation AS HC800 technology and ABB automation products. The PFC can be expanded with many optional modules like Power Management, Load Control and Energy Monitoring.

In addition, services for verification of the electrical system is required. ShoreConnection will do any study required for evaluating the system by extensive documentation review and advanced computer simulations in Mathlab/Simulink. These services can in turn be used for input for the overall FMEA of the vessel and facilitate the possibility for closed bus operation in DP2 and DP3.
