BILGE WATER TREATMENT
No other waste stream on a ship is so closely connected to million dollar fines and imprisonment as bilge water (engine room generated waste water). The phrase “magic pipe” is common knowledge among marine engineers and many has seen these in practice as they are still commonly used on ships.

WASTE WATER TREATMENT

Discharge of untreated or poorly treated black and grey water will harm the aquatic environment by adding nutrition, toxins and pathogens that can increase risks to human health. Marpol has recently updated the regulations, classified the Baltic sea as a special area for passenger vessels and more stringent regulations for the Arctic and Antarctic regions. 

The Marinfloc solution is based on using the vessels holding tanks as bio reactors to maximize the available space onboard as size is everything when it comes to bio reactors. As the bio reactor is hull integrated the treatment unit foot print can be minimized without affecting the effluent water quality. The Marinfloc Neptumatic units are certified to the latest MEPC 227(64) requirements including § 4.2 for the Baltic Sea.
