SWEDAC SBR-latex can minimise these deficiencies, e.g. in a typical mix of 1 part cement, 3 parts coarse sand and using 5 - 8 % by weight of SWEDAC SBR-latex, the tensile strength is doubled. A simple practical demonstration is to paint a slurry of the latex and cement, and a slurry of water and cement onto steel strips. After hardening it will be found that only the strip painted with the latex/cement can be bent without the coating flaking off. This demonstrates the improvement in adhesion and flexibility given by the latex. LANAT PU System Weather resistant polyurethane compound. Can be filled with sand up to 60 volume %. The system includes antislip and UV resistant topcoats.
FLOATING FLOOR	FLOATING FLOOR The SWEDAC Deck covering System is a method of noise control in ships, which acts by preventing vibration of the steel structure. The energy thus absorbed is therefore not available to be radiated as sound in the treated area or in other parts of the ship. Over 200.000 square meters of Swedac Deck covering systems have been installed over the past 15 years. The viscoelastic layer forms the filling of a sandwich construction between the steel of the deck and a constraining layer of latex modified concrete or steel. As the deck flexes under vibration transmitted to it from engines or propellers, the viscoelastic layer is placed in shear. The special property of a viscoelastic material is that it not recover at the same rate as which it is distorted, and energy from the vibration is therefore absorbed, leaving less to be radiated as noise. Isolamin bulkhead and lining  panels are the main component’s in Isolamin’s complete marine interior system. They come in thicknesses from 16 to 100 mm. Those soft core panels are made up as a sandwich construction of sheet steel with a soft, light weight and non-combustible core of mineral or glass wool.

Sound reduction values of up to 51 dB Rw are achieved and fire rating form B0 to A60. The unique panel connection system makes it a total flexible system. The panels are equilateral giving less cut offs at assembling. To obtain a good comfort, a good noise reduction is required between the individual decks. To prevent noise – particularly impact sound and structure borne noise– from travelling from one cabin to another you must use an insulation solution which has the necessary rigidity, elasticity and noise reduction/absorption.

ROCKWOOL Technical Insulation has for this purpose developed and for many years marketed the “SeaRox SL 436” (Marine Slab 140) with an excellent track record. This product is widely used by dedicated floating floor companies as the core material, combined with different types of load spreading top layers and base layers. These solutions are extensively used on cruise liners where stringent requirements are made in order for people to be able to enjoy their cruise without being bothered by noise.
